As Jaime's @jaimewolf
previous post brings the sweet ballad to the bead, I submit this version of Wild is the Wind.
Starting softly, the ballad builds slowly in sound and sentiment. Simultaneously emotional and aloof (even when hearing 'the sound of mandolins'!!) the tone seems to land somewhere between the themes for The Spy Who Loved Me and Skyfall.
Wild is the Wind, written by Dimitri Tiomkin and Ned Washington for the movie of the same name, was originally recorded by Johnny Mathis for the 1957. Hearing the Mathis version
helps one appreciate how cool the Thin White Duke really is, as if one needed convincing.
