The 80's were obviously the golden age of music videos. The rise of MTV coupled with a deluge of talented creatives exploring this new medium made for quite a cornucopia of visual expressions.

I'd love to see this bead explore the good, the bad, and the ugly of 80's music videos. Each of which can be enjoyed for a variety of reasons.

The red ball

Besides a-ha "Take On Me", this is my favorite video. There is a big part of nostalgy in it. In 1984 when I was 13 or 14 years old, we didn't have the cable...only bunny ears on the TV on which we only had 3 french channels....no MTV or equivalent. I was from a small town and the cable wasn't available yet. So in 1984 there was an event called "La grande nuit du video" which was music video non-stop all night long! I taped it all on Beta! It was a memorable beautiful night. I also fell in love with this video and the red ball rolling.
