M - Moonlight And Muzak
David Kamp

M, “Moonlight and Muzak”

A bit of timeline cheat, as this came out in late ’79 but wasn’t heard on U.S. radio until 1980. This is the little-remembered follow-up to “Pop Muzik.” I heard it on a college-radio station near my little town and thought it really sounded like a “new wave” of music: silvery and futuristic. Bonus: the tuxedoed gent on synths is Wally Badarou—later known for his work with Grace Jones and Talking Heads—in his first TV appearance!
