King of Carrot Flowers (pt 1) appeared in the much praised 1998 release In 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea'. A little grim, a little hopeful, awkward scenes of dead-end domesticity, made bearable by youthful curiosity carried along in the bellows of the accordion:
And your mom would stick a fork right into daddy's shoulder
And dad would throw the garbage all across the floor
As we would lay and learn what each other's bodies were for
