David Sibel

Stuff Smith (Hezekiah Leroy Gordon Smith) was a a bridge from early swing into be-bop and beyond. Played in Texas in the 20s, his own band in the 30s, with Nat King Cole in the 40s, Dizzy, Oscar Peterson, into be-bop circles and even Sun Ra.
