S+G will have seen the Moog at Monterey, where in June 1967 one was set up as a demo at the festival at which they appeared. By April 1968, the machine's grinding groove featured on this weird little track about suicide off of "Bookends" ("Sound of Silence" is also sampled half-way through). Moog himself is said to have helped in the recording of "Save the Life of My Child."
