Lydia Loveless set the Internet abuzz in 2014 with a cover of Ke$ha’s “Blind,” done up with a bit of honky-tonk love. For her trip to Undercover town, the Columbus, Ohio singer-songwriter grabbed something a little more respectable to play: Echo & The Bunnymen’s 1984 stone classic “The Killing Moon.” Lead Bunnyman Ian McCulloch once said of the song, “…when I sing ‘The Killing Moon’ I know there isn’t a band in the world who’s got a song anywhere near that.” He’s not entirely wrong, though he does like to blow his own horn, doesn’t he? Here, Loveless and her band pay tribute. Loveless’ latest album is Somewhere Else.
