Danielle Johnson, the mastermind behind the synth-pop project Computer Magic, draws her name from Spinal Tap: In the film, Viv Savage remarks, "Quite exciting, this computer magic!” about a video game. It's fitting, because Computer Magic is quite exciting herself, and the name works as a literal descriptor of her music. After a lot of success in Japan, Computer Magic released her debut LP, Davos, last October. She’s currently working on a new album, a new—this time rock—band called Cody Crump, and keep an eye out for upcoming tour dates. She talked to Milq about her love for Radiohead, Louis CK, Bladerunner, and Gudetama, a lazy egg character from Sanrio. Follow Computer Magic on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and check out her new album here.
