The Zo peoples featured in “Art of the Zo” are known by a number of other names including the Mizo, the Kuki, the Chin, and the Zomi. Every year on Feb. 20, Chin National Day is celebrated by Chin populations throughout the world to commemorate the 1948 foundation of the democratic Chin State in Myanmar. Military rule abruptly took over in 1962, and to this day the Chin peoples continue to fight to regain their democracy. Chin National Day is a day for international Chin communities to celebrate, connect, and hope for a better future. Come see "Art of the Zo: Textiles from Myanmar, India, and Bangladesh" to learn more.
