They were visionary designers, responsible for extraordinary innovations in the use of materials, design approaches and also just what it meant to "be" a designer, the breadth of things a great designer could do. From pioneering molded plywood and applying it to the war effort via gorgeous and useful splits and stretchers, to the iconic chairs everyone knows, to the films and toys and exhibitions and on and on.
